About my charity : Cornwall Hospice Care Cornwall Hospice Care
Cornwall Hospice Care provides care and support throughout Cornwall, for people living with life-threatening illnesses, their families and carers, not only in our two hospices - St Julia’s in Hayle and Mt Edgcumbe in St Austell - but also in outreach centres across the county. Last year, nearly 500 people benefited from over 7,400 bed days, receiving treatment to alleviate pain and control symptoms. The care given to patients and their families is provided free of charge, but costs us over £5 million annually (£10 a minute). Only 13% of this is funded by the government which means that we rely heavily on the generous support of the general public, donations, challenges and fundraising events. All the money we raise stays in Cornwall.

My personal message:

the classic quarter

Lizard to Land's End (44 miles) Ultra Marathon

My challenge is to run 44 miles of the South West Coast Path from Lizard Point to Land's End on Saturday 28 June 2008. For more information visit: www.classicquarter.co.uk

Why? Certainly not because I am a gifted runner - more a cart horse.

The motive is to establish an event to raise money every year for Cornwall Hospice Care who look after the hospices of St Julia's in Hayle and Mount Edgcumbe near St Austell.

It is a great cause, they do wonderful work, so please be generous - loads of sponsorship money will spur me on.
