Story
Thank you for visiting Claviga's fundraising page.
We’ve completed our Thames Walk - 50 km - and all survived to tell the tale. We started at The Riverside Inn on the banks of the Thames in Lechlade at 9.15 am on Thursday 28 June and finished at The Cock and Camel in Oxford at 4.00 pm on Friday 29 June.
The rain stayed away most of the time and unlike many rivers in the UK at the moment, the Thames wasn't in flood so, despite the muddy fields, long wet grass and large puddles, we stayed mostly dry. Saffy (Sue’s Golden Retriever) ran probably an extra 20 km but seemed to love every minute of it and gratefully accepted the extra treats she earned. As for the rest of us, I think we all felt we could have trained a little harder and been a little fitter but we’ll know better for next time … And the most memorable moment … After 17 miles on Thursday, the distant view of the pub we were heading for.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us – we couldn’t have done it without you.
