We give home and hope to children in need to give them education and a chance in life

Story

Have I been harassing you to contribute to our half marathon run? Then I'm sorry, I don't mean to make you feel bad, but I did mean to make you aware of the awful conditions that millions of children in Africa have to endure. In particular, children whose parents have died from AIDS or any number of preventable diseases, that have created "the lost generation". Children of 8 or 9 years old suddenly find themselves taking care of their younger brother and sisters, with no parents, no home and no hope.

The Charity "Caring for the Children of Watamu" has provided educational facilites for hundreds of children in Watamu, Kenya, to try to break the cycle of lack of education and poverty, and perhaps even more importantly last month has opened a refuge, a place for parentless and unwanted children where they will be fed and cared for with love and respect.

Your help is absolutely critical, and what we are trying to do is simply act as a catalyst to try to make you aware of the unnecessary suffering of these little children. So if you have helped us by contributing, then please accept our heartfelt thanks, if you are thinking about it, no matter how little you can manage, it all helps. I received an email from Sue Hayward at Watamu today, telling me that to feed the the 30 children in the refuge costs 730 pounds per month, that's less than one pound per child per day, but can literally mean the difference between life or death for a little child.

So please, give what you can, it'll make you feel good, honest it will.

                                                                        THANK YOU
