Siamo divisi in quattro gruppi di cinque volontari e ogni gruppo sarà stanziato in una diversa comunità rurale dove, a partire dai primi di agosto, dopo quattro giorni di formazione a Kathmandu, porteremo avanti i nostri progetti per le restanti cinque settimane del programma. La formazione prevederà lezioni intensive di lingua nepalese, lezioni di cultura, primo soccorso e laboratori didattici. La regione è montuosa e le comunità presso le quali i progetti si svolgono sono esclusivamente raggiungibili con escursioni a piedi attraverso le montagne, dalla città di Baglung. Lavoreremo a fianco di maestranze locali e non, collaborando all'attività didattica, di costruzione di infrastrutture, nonchè a far sì che i lavori di costruzione procedano con il ritmo desiderato. Questo significa che le comunità hanno un maggiore incentivo nel garantire che le varie iniziative vadano a buon fine. La PSD riceve di volta in volta diverse proposte di progetto da varie comunità che sono poi poste al vaglio prima di essere rivolte ai volontari dell’ODA: la PSD si assicura che i progetti selezionati siano necessari per le comunità e che soddisfino i parametri di coerenza e attendibilità dell’associazione. It is going to be four groups of five volunteers and each group will be situated in a different rural community. Commencing in early August, there will be four days of training in Kathmandu, followed by five weeks placement in a community to carry out the project. Training involves intensive Nepalese language lessons, health and cultural lessons, and teaching workshops. Nevertheless, before departing for the project, volunteers attend weekly training sessions both on general development and more project-specific issues. <span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: "Century Gothic","sans-serif"; color: #31859c; font-size: 12pt; mso-themecolor: accent5; mso-themeshade: 191; mso-style-textfill-fill-color: #31859C; mso-style-textfill-fill-themecolor: accent5; mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha: 100.0%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-style-textfill-fill-colortransforms: lumm=75000;" lang="EN-US">The project will be based in the Baglung district in central Nepal, where previous years’ projects have also been carried out. The region is mountainous and the communities in which the projects take place are usually reached by hiking through the hills from the town of Baglung. We will work alongside local skilled and unskilled workers assisting with teaching, in constructing, and to ensure that the building work progresses at the desired pace. Throughout the placement, we will be housed with a local family. This means that the communities have a greater incentive to ensure that the projects are successful as well.
