On the 26th April I will attempt to run the London marathon to show my support for Alzheimer's Concern Ealing (ACE), I'm trying to raise at least £1000. I know what youre probably thinking, I'm skint, I don't even like Clem very much, Alzheimer's is not my concern. That may be so, and yes we are all affected by the current economic climate but now more than ever we need to support charities like ACE. Alzheimers is a terribly cruel disease, it cannot be cured and is degenerative. Alzheimer's places a great burden on carers; the pressures are wide-ranging, involving social, psychological, physical, and economic elements of the carer's life. ACE works to support people suffering with Alzheimers and their carers through a range of flexible specialist services. ACE is an entirely voluntary organization, under incredible pressure both financially and emotionally. I'm very proud to support a local charity, where I know all the money raised will go directly to those people who need it.
