I'm running the Derwent Dambuster Challenge at the weekend, which is a 10 mile trail race - the furthest I've ever run in my life! I'm running it with my mate, Dinkypen, so I'm relying on her experience to set us a sensible pace. The forecast for Saturday is for another scorcher - lots of water required!
You can read all about the race, and the brilliant work that Challenge Cancer Through Adventure do at their website: http://www.challengecancer.org.uk/
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Challenge Cancer Through Adventure will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
UPDATE: Despite Dinkypen setting off like a hare from the start line (!) we managed a sensible, consistent pace, and crossed the line in 1:27, much faster than I thought we would! The last few miles were really hard, me with ITB pain in my knee, and Dinkypen with bad quads, but we made it all the way without stopping
Everyone seemed to have a great day, and a really beautiful, scenic course.
