Monday 9 August 2010: It is great to be home - can't quite believe we've done it, but we have the photos and video to prove it! A huge thankyou to everyone who has donated to the Lily Foundation, and thanks so much for all the support - we have appreciated it!

Friday 6 August 2010: Congratulations to Karen, Chetana and Anne on reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro! "Made it!  ... totally shattered and still have trek 2 final camp ..."

we are 3 friends who have decided to take up a challenge of trekking to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro - if Cheryl Cole can do it - WE CAN!

after all the planning, training and kitting-out for our climb, we are here, ready to board our bus that takes us on our 3hour bumpy journey to the GATE. it is all very real now and we are ready to go.!  we have every intention of getting to the TOP and we will get there knowing that we have achieved our money raising target. all the money raised will go to the lily foundaton.  we are funding the trek and flights and accommodation ourselves.

friends of ours, dave and lizzie founded the Lily Foundation two years ago and launched the charity at the start of 2008 following the death of their 8 month old baby Lily to mitochondrial disease. it has been inspirational to see what they have achieved in such a short time – have a look at the Foundation’s website (www.the lilyfoundation.org.uk) which has some fantastic messages of support and thanks and details information on how the money raised is being put towards research and support for parents who have children suffering from mitochondrial disease. also have a look at the short video link that is available from this page (make sure you have the tissues at hand!)
