<p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small; color: #000000;"><em>1 circumnavigation</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small; color: #000000;">, 10 ocean racing yachts, 40,000 miles, 15 races 13 countries, 1 winner. </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small; color: #000000;">In participating in the longest Round the World Yacht Race I will be fulfilling one of my lifetime ambitions and crossing one more item off my life's bucket list. I will be onboard "Edinburgh Inspiring Capital" for the final homecoming Leg 8 of the Clipper 2011/12 circumnavigation which will see me race across the Atlantic Ocean against 9 identical other boats covering over 3800 miles. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small; color: #000000;">The route we will take will replicate the HMS Titanic route in its centenary year and it will also include passing over the the Flemish Cap, a fishing ground made famous in the book and film, The Perfect Storm. After leaving New York the race will take me to Halifax Nova Scotia in Canada, before departing for Derry in N Ireland then on to Den Helder in Holland and finally crossing the finish line in Southampton a week prior to the start of the London 2012 Olympics.<em> </em></span><em> </em></p>
