DEBRA is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal. We fund pioneering research and provide care and support to individuals and families living with EB.

Story

Dear All,

Well another year, another marathon attempt - my excuse is that I didn't think I would get in the ballot again.

After having taken part in the past two Marathons, thought I may be seeing some tangible benefits physically. Alas not - a couple of recent trips to the "Wellbeing Kiosk" at work has confirmed the reality. I am still over-weight, bordering on the obese (I know this may not be a shock to everyone!), and my body mass index would be OK if I was 7ft 3! Even worse, my official weight of 104kg is 5kg heavier than my deluded scales at home - no wonder my knees have been groaning with the excess baggage.

The 26th April doesn't seem that long away. To spur me on (and to prevent me bottling-out) I am committed to raising money for DebRA - which is a very noble cause (see their website at www.debra.org.uk/). I would greatly appreciate any support you could give me. [In my foolish quest I am hoping to break inside 4hrs this year.]

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. DebRA gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Many thanks for your support,

Clive Coles
