My story

What started as a bit of friendly banter in the office trying to persuade Chris Szweda to finally take the plunge and clip his receding and thinning hair down to a #1 has now metamorphosed into a much more significant event! Several of us from Group SHEQ and the &I RBU will now be completely shaving our heads on Friday 7th August at the Business Briefing. We are doing this as a bit of fun but more importantly to support an incredibly worthy cause that has personally affected one of our team.

A message from Phil - "My daughter Maeve, was diagnosed with a particularly aggressive form of Leukaemia when she was 12 and given only a 20% chance of surviving the next 5 years, her only chance was to have a bone marrow transplant. After a Global search a match was eventually found, Maeve is now 17, just taken her AS level exams and undertaking the Duke of 4 day backpacking expedition. We were very lucky, she wouldn’t be with us if it wasn’t for the work of the Nolan trust and others like them. If you’re aged between 18 and 40 please consider going on the bone marrow register as well as donating to this cause."

We are proudly supporting our chosen charity, The Anthony Nolan Trust (http://www.anthonynolan.org.uk/), which is the charity that takes back lives from leukaemia. It is only with your involvement that they can carry out their lifesaving work. So please dig deep and donate now to see us all look even more silly than usual on the 7th August.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure, it also works with any credit card in any currency. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate.

Thanks for your support.
