Story
What started out as a 40th Birthday challenge became an opportunity to raise some money for a charity, there are so many various good causes, but we chose the Cots for Tots appeal as in March 2012, when all this started taking shape, my wife's cousin gave birth to a baby boy at 24 weeks!
His name is Alfie and we followed him as a family but he also created demand for weekly updates from within our Cycle Club, Salt N Sham, and that’s when we decided that if we could help a charity linked with premature baby units/ill children, then that would be our preference, hence Cots for Tots.
Its quite amazing to understand some of the things they do, more so from the 'Parents' perspective with ill children/babies and how they have accommodation facility, the Cots for Tots House to allow families to stay close to their baby, free of charge when they are being treated in the Special Care Baby Unit at St Michael’s Hospital, Bristol.
So we are taking up this Self Funded Mid Life Crisis Challenge and hope to raise lots of cash to help the Families and Babies who need 'Cots for Tots' support and bring about more happy endings, Alfie has now just turned 1 year old and without the NICU units support would not be with us today.
