Story
The “plan” is to try to complete the 100 mile course, from the Olympic Park to the sprint finish on the Mall, in under 5 hours and beat as many “real cyclists” (aka skinnies) as possible!
Training alongside rowing has been tough, especially on my old wire horse Oscar who after 10 years service finally gave up on me in spectacular fashion with the back wheel disintegrating mid ride.
Thankfully I have managed to acquire a new (to me) steed in the guise of Pappa-Smurf, a wonderfully blue beast of a Giant, to help me get around the course and clocking up the fenland training miles.
Le Tour coming to town came after a big week racing the Double at Henley and since then training has ramped up taking in all the big climbs of Cambridgeshire like the A14 cycle bridge.
The final few weeks until race day will hopefully be less wet than this weekend but I will be out on the road regardless.
Your support would be really appreciated through sponsorship or company on training rides out into the windswept Fen (it doesn’t always rain, just nearly always)
Thanks for taking the time vist my page!
