Langdale 1/2 Marathon · 3 September 2008

Both Parents Matter is a charity providing information and support to separated parents to ensure a child's right to a relationship with both. Support is provided through a national helpline, website, internet forums, branch meetings and parent support workshops. It also campaigns to ensure that both parents are treated equally.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I am attempting the Langdale 1/2 Marathon on Sunday 14th September and hope to raise around £500 for Families Need Fathers (FNF) - a charity very close to my heart. They support fathers and families during relationship break down and campaign for equality in the family courts. Unfortunately, following a difficult divorce my two sons - Ryan (4) and Adam (1) now live in Slovakia with their mother. Over 90% of applications made by mothers to leave England with their children are approved by the courts - largely due to case law (Payne vs Payne).

FNF believe that children should have the benefit of both parents in their upbringing and actively campaign (with similar organisations) for a change in policy surrounding family law. They are having some good success.

If you believe in equality and the right for children to be actively brought up by both parents then please support me by giving generously to FNF. Many thanks in advance.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Families Need Fathers gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
