The Co-operative 6 Peaks Walk for RNID · 6 September 2009

We are RNID. Together, we’re here to make life fully inclusive for deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus. Your help will help us make a real difference to the lives of deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus.

Story

This year The Co-operative's Charity of the Year is the Royal National Institute for the Deaf. We are organising many events to raise funds for our chosen charity - and you can read how it will help RNID in their work here.

The Specialist Commercial division of the Co-op, made up of The Co-operative Electrical, Sunwin Motor Group, Sunwin Services Group and The Co-operative Clothing have set ourselves the challenge of walking 6 peaks - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, the 3 Peaks of Yorkshire (Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough) and finally Snowden in just 4 days! That's over 50 miles of arduous terrain!

UPDATE: Our team completed the 6 Peaks on Snowden on 9 Sept 2009! This challenge was a gruelling, testing and also exhilarating challenge, we covered over 50 miles of walking and 19,000 ft of climbing. The weather in Yorkshire was 50 mph winds and driving rain. Knees were twisted,  feet blistered - but everyone wants to do it again - what a team spirit. PLEASE still donate for us retrospectively. The full total of our fund-raising will be updated with offline donations again shortly. (this update is dated 10 Sept 2009)

Please give what you can to support us in our efforts to raise £5,000 for the RNID.
