Hi All,
As you may be aware, in conjunction with celebrating my birthday and Halloween, I am also wishing to support the MAD4Africa charity - an organisation that I am quite close to.
MAD4Africa is a unique charity run by a small group of volunteers. They are committed to making a difference in Africa through sustainable projects that are managed within the local community.
MAD4Africa’s first project is the Kiyonza Professional Training Centre (KPTC), Ngoma Sector, Rwanda. In providing this facility they are helping this community build a sustainable future. This project will be managed by the local community, thereby giving them ownership of their future success.
In January 2011 MAD4Africa opened the doors of the centre to 86 students from the local area and are currently learning carpentry, constructing, tailoring and languages.
The committee has just come back from building a pig farming pen that will give enough funding to sustain the centre in the future.
In January 2012 they are planning to expand the centre to 150 students following the building of additional classrooms - but this is all dependent on funding.
Needless to say, any donations that you are willing to make to this good cause will be greatly appreciated, and it will make the celebrations on 29th October, even more special!
