HARP is South Essex’s leading homelessness charity, supporting over 1,000 people each year with housing, advice and 1:1 help when life becomes unstable. Our role is to meet people where they are and offer support that acknowledges their situation, without judgement.

Story

Nearly a decade after succeeding in our previous ambition to become the World's worst cricket team, the Cockleshed Heroes have reunited to help raise money for a great local cause, the HARP homeless charity in Southend-on-Sea. We will be continously walking laps of a 4.2 miles course in relay for an entire 24 hours from Noon on 22nd June 2013.

As you can see, we are embarking upon the single most epic walk since Captain Scott raced to the South Pole, although there will be considerably less snow and ice in our challenge and it will also probably involve a lot more walking around a rugby ground in Westcliff and (hopefully) less eating of horses. In the true spirit of Great British  adventurers, we have put in virtually no preparation or training.

We hope that you will support us and HARP by donating to our team of hopelessly unfit 40-somethings.Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
