Story
Thanks for visiting our fund-raising page.
Having lived 'up north' for six months now, we thought it was about time we did some hard northern stuff. (Read as: we don't want everyone at the pub thinking we're southern softies for much longer.)
So on 27 September we're doing the Nine Edges Endurance Challenge -- a 20-mile traverse from Ladybower to Baslow, taking in nine of the vast gritstone edges that make our amazing scenery what it is. We're hiking the route, although some rather odd people actually choose to run or even climb it. (If you want to do the challenge, the website is www.nineedges.co.uk.)
All the money we raise is going to Edale Mountain Rescue Team, a hard-working group run entirely by volunteers and funded only by public donations. I'd like to hope that neither of us, and none of you, will ever need their services -- but when we're hiking on the wilds of Kinder, or dangling off a rope at Burbage, it's nice to know that help is out there, somewhere, if we need it. The team does an amazing job and they deserve every penny we manage to raise. (Check out their website at www.edalemountainrescue.co.uk.)
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Edale Mountain Rescue Team gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
