I am Colin Phelan and with the outstanding support of terry Thorn we are jointly embarking on the 2010 London Marathon to raise ‘£10,000 for RP Fighting Blindness, an eye disease that I have. My brother Eamonn, who also suffers from the disease, is also helping us raise money for research into this disease which is very close to our hearts. Retinitis Pigmentosa is a degenerative eye disease that affects approximately 25,000 families in the including me and my family. As treatments for the condition become closer to a reality, I am passionate about contributing towards this goal for my own benefit, for my brother and sister who also have RP and for the thousands of people in the who face a future with this fight against blindness. With my guide runner Terry, who is running with me to ensure I don’t end up in the or somewhere with an even harder landing, we are committed to raising £10,000 for RP Fighting Blindness. Without the support of Terry, who answered an advert in my gym, this would never be happening. All I need to do now to keep everything going in the right direction is to find a way of teaching him his left from right when giving me directions. A massive big thank you to Terry. Thank you for your generous support and please give Terry and myself a shout on April 25th.
