Hello there
I have yet again roped myself into another enduring running challenge for 2007 and have entered the Inverness Half Marathon on 11 March, the Lochaber Marathon on 22 April and the Loch Ness Marathon (again) on 7 October 2007. This time, I have opted to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, and I'm committed to raising a certain amount.
So, thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I'd be really, really grateful if you could please sponsor me as much or as little as you wish.
Training reached the 22 mile mark on Sundays with challenging mid-week timed "sprints" up Dundonald Hill, steady runs up to 12 miles and rigorous speed sessions which have somehow worn out my hair due to blinding pace!? Sunday 11 March was a great success, I achieved a personal best 1hr 31min 52 sec; 5 minutes off my previous p.b. & testament indeed to the training plan this year. Sadly with three weeks to go before Lochaber on 22 April, I picked up a strange infection which cleared within 2 weeks, then I "sneezed" and tore ligaments in the base of my back and couldn't walk, which has put paid to Lochaber... so it's recovery time and onwards to Loch Ness in October and all is not lost.. your sponsorship will still be put to the good cause to which it has been pledged... and I'll keep you all posted as soon as training re-starts or if I find another event before then...
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks in anticipation for your support.
Colin..
