Hi everyone, Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We are taking part in a 50 mile sponsored walk along the Great Wall of China in October 2008 to raise £10,000 for 'Action for M.E.' (the main U.K. charity working to help people with M.E. or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Having survived severe M.E. ourselves, following viruses in 2003, we are currently making good recoveries and now want to help other people with the illness by doing the sponored walk. We also hope that taking part in the challenge will give hope to others that even though recovery can seem impossible it may be achieved. M.E.is a chronic disabling illness affecting approximately 240,000 people in the U.K., including 25,000 children. Many people who are severely affected are unable to look after themselves. The charity works hard to help people with M.E. and their carers (see left). It campaignes to promote awareness of the illness, much needed early diagnosis and the development of suitable treatments in order to prevent patients from deteriorating to severe levels and to promote recovery.
