Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
As you may know, my 2 year old grandson, Adam, has cerebral palsy and has been attending an incredible place in Billingshurst for a year or so now called The Dame Vera Lynn School for Parents of Children with Cerebral Palsy. This school provides help to Adam and his family in learning to cope with his condition and helping him to lead the most independent life possible. The school provides all of its services free of charge and helps out around 60 families at any one time. However, it survives purely on donations, without any government assistance. It's an amazing service for children up to 5 years old which isn't available on the NHS - so I am determined to do my bit to ensure that it can continue to help Adam and others like him.
Therefore, I am attempting to cycle solo from the school in Billinghurst, just outside Gatwick, to Malaga, Spain - about 2,000 miles (including the odd mountain range!!!) . Should I manage to complete it, the trip should take about 30 days.
At my age, (and in my physical condition) this may well be considered foolhardy. However, always having been a man of extremes and rarely taking the advice of people who know better, I intend to give it my best shot and hope you will help me to hit my target for this very worthy cause.
I intend to post a daily report of my progress along the route onto the internet and ultimately provide a DVD of the whole trip to whoever may be interested. Please let me know if you'd like a copy. My e-mail address is cstuttard@aol.com - feel free to send me your messages of support / advice / ridicule along the way!
Final Result.
I completed the ride to Malaga in 29 days, I covered a total of 1785.6 miles.
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed.
