Story

On the 1 weekend in June we completed the Three Peaks Challenge. We successfully climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales in an excellent time of 22 hours and 59 minutes! (That time includes the time taken to drive between each mountain). There was blood, there was sweat and there were a few tears, but we put one foot in front of the other and with a huge amount of determination completed this formidable challenge! It was extremely exhausting but we were blessed with great weather - Ben Nevis was in the cloud and the summit was covered in snow, but thankfully there was no wind or rain. Scafell Pike was bathed in beautiful sunshine giving us views across Scotland and the Isle of Man from the top! Finally we climbed Snowdon at 2 o clock in the morning which was perhaps the hardest thing of all - we had been on the move for hours, had barely slept and have already climbed two of the biggest mountains in the UK! However it was a very still and warm night and we were treated to a fantastic sunrise view from the summit.

All in all we had a fantastic experience and thoroughly enjoyed the event - oh and I think we nearly did eat 83 chocolate bars - but boy did we need it! We have also managed to raise over £3000 for Access Sport which is a great achievement!

It's not too late to sponsor us if you haven't already done so and we would love to raise as much as possible and would really appreciate your donations to help us smash our target beyond all expectations! The proceeds will be going to Access Sport. Access Sport makes it affordable and enjoyable for young people to engage in active sporting programs within their community. This helps prevent rising obesity levels and other health and social issues, such as juvenile delinquency. The knock on effects for both the young people and their communities are huge– increased levels of fitness, well being and social responsibility. And it obviously works…it’s already made 6 desk bound trainee lawyers a lot more active!

Using this site is secure, instant and adds Gift Aid to increase your donation: If you are a basic rate or higher rate taxpayer it will add on 28% to your donation and if you are a higher rate tax payer then you can reclaim a further 18% so that a £20 donation costs you £16.40 but gives Access Sport £25.60.
