Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
Since 2007 Colchester United fans and others have got together to ride their bikes from one football ground to the other to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, following the tragic death from leukaemia of a young U's fan of 14, Emily Begg.  Emily desperately wanted to be able to help other people, so her parents set up the Emily Begg fund in her memory.

The Emily Begg Fund is aiming to raise money to help build and equip a new Teenage Cancer Trust unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital near Cambridge.  Teenagers with cancer are a special case - too young for adult wards yet too grown up to be surrounded by young children.  TCT units give them the chance to fight their illness surrounded by other youngsters who are facing the same challenges not only from cancer but also life - school, exams, adolescence.

This year once again our intrepid band of riders will be setting off from Portman Road to cycle across Constable Country to the new Weston Homes Community Stadium, Colchester.  This is a distance of about 20 miles.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Teenage Cancer Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
