My story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.  We're hopeful that as you've made it here, you're about to make a donation!

WE MADE IT!!!!!!

4 unfit girls from the Lichfield area have completed one of the UK's most exhausting, exhilarating and rewarding charity challenges.

In 52 hours, through wind, rain and the occasional sunshine,  3 of us climbed more than 4,200 meters to the summit and back of four of the highest peaks in Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland.  Meanwhile, Dawn, our reliable driver (seen here on the left), slept very little, but took to the roads and drove the 1,000 miles between the peaks, letting us recharge our batteries.

She was also our personal slave for the challenge, providing us with many cups of tea and coffee (and pot noodle and cold tins of chilli!  umm nice!) and anything else we desired to avoid immense mood swings!

To bring some lighthearted humour to this dire situation, on the last mountain, we started off wearing pink pyjamas, donated by La Senza (before getting soaked in the river crossing and heavy rain) whilst singing "She'll be coming round the mountain".

Our efforts won us the "wooden spoon prize", as it too us a mind blowing 22 hours of walking  (out of 52) to complete the 4 Peaks - not helped by knee injuries.  Our talents obviously lie elsewhere, as we also won the "Best Dressed Car prize" - see photo.  Big thanks to Glyn for the design work.

We would like to raise £4,400 for the Wooden Spoon Charity, which supports disadvantaged and disabled children and youngsters in the UK.  WE STILL HAVE SOME WAY TO GO, SO WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS.  Since it started out in 1983, Spoon has supported more than 250 projects across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, donating more than £13.5 million and reaching in excess of 500,000 children.  Projects range from teenage cancer care units to sensory gardens.

We know times are tough, but please give as much as you can to this incredibly worthy cause.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Wooden Spoon gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
