Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am swapping my nursing uniform for hiking boots and attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. I am Director of Nursing and Quality at Ipswich Hospital and want to raise money for a community garden for the elderly at the hospital.
Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano in Tanzania and it stands 5,895 metres tall and is one of the largest free standing mountains in the world.
We want to create a community garden which will be enjoyed by older people, their children, grandchildren and friends. The aim is to transform a large area outside two wards – Grundisburgh and Haughley – into a haven of well-being and enjoyment for patients. We want to be able to use the garden all year around and have different sensory areas, with raised beds, cottage garden plants, an allotment area, a summerhouse and greenhouses. We’d love to hear more ideas about what people want from the garden as well. Staff are hoping that the garden will be ready by next spring.
