Comrades Marathon · 2 June 2013

Teens Unite supports young people fighting cancer to live their best life, while others search for a cure. We inspire young people to recognise their potential now and in the future and empower them to live every moment to the full.

Story

Thank you for visiting my page, as those who supported my Lucerne Marathon fundraising last year will know I am an avid runner and have taken part in many marathons. As the General Manager for Mint Leaf Restaurant Group we have supported Teens Unite, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of teenagers and young people fighting cancer and other life limiting illnesses for many years and will continue to do so. I thought what better way to support Teens Unite than through my latest Marathon, the Comrades Marathon which I will run on 2nd June 2013.

The Comrades Marathon is a 86.96km (54mile) race through South Africa from Durban to Pietermaritzburg. It has been hailed as the biggest and best ultra-marathon in the World and the most inclusive sporting event in South Africa. During the event an athlete must also reach five cut-off points in specified times to complete the race. This will be my 10th year running this incredibly challenging event. Making me one of the elite few to complete it this many times from the UK.

Continuing on from our fundraising success with the “guess the nearest finishing time” from my Lucerne Marathon I am giving you the chance to win dinner for 4 people on our chefs table at Mint Leaf Lounge, enjoying our six course tasting menu with matching wines (Value £700+) and a Cocktail Masterclass for four at Mint Leaf Haymarket for the runner up.  By donating £10 per guess you will be in with a chance of winning these great prizes. You just have to guess the closest to what will be my actual finishing time. Just put the time you have guessed next to your name. (Only one person can win each amazing prize, so please don’t enter the same time as someone else)
