Hi Everyone
As you know I've been working for Macmillan Cancer Support since Nicole and I came to the United Kingdom - and although it's a great feeling working for a charity, rarely do I actually get off the lounge, get dirty, and raise some cold hard cash. So I have decided that now is my chance to put your money, where my mouth is!
I've recently been promoting Macmillan's newest event, which is called 'Conquer a Corbett'. A Corbett is a Scottish mountain above 2500ft - and Macmillan wants someone to Conquer each of the 219 Corbetts in Scotland during the month of May. So rather than just talk-the-talk ... it's time to walk-the-walk.
But I won't be doing this alone - joining me is Nicole and two mates I grew up with - Jason and Matt (and anyone who wants to join us). For those who don't know Jason - he wouldn't usually climb a hill unless a three course meal and bottle of fine wine was waiting at the top - while Matt is currently managing his life with leukemia and is a true inspiration to everyone around him... so as you see, we all have many reasons to do this.
And since we first committed to Conquer the Corbett both John-Adam Thomson and Gary Welsh have also raised their hand to join us in the challenge. Thanks guys!
Now! Getting down to business - we are going to conquer "Beinn Luibhean". The event runs over the entire month - but our date will be 26th May - depending on the weather.
I don't need to tell you that cancer is something that affects us all - as there isn't anyone who doesn't have a friend or family member affected - so please help out.
