Having always promised myself that I would one day beat Mum’s marathon PB (yes believe it or not, many moons ago, she did indeed pound the streets of London in a remarkable 4hrs 17mins!), the time has finally come to take on the challenge and achieve the goal – not so fun when training commenced in 35 degrees Jamaican heat, to what can now only be described as Arctic conditions! And of course, there will always be that little battle with the relentless right knee..
Nevertheless, the plan remains to train for and complete the long awaited Virgin London Marathon on April 25…
No challenge would be complete without raising funds for a cause close to my heart – as some of you are aware, my younger sister has long suffered with mental issues which have had a great impact on both her life and that of my family. We continue to battle on through trying to find a solution, something the Mental Health Foundation combats every day – this fantastic charity, now in its diamond jubilee year, is dedicated to helping people like Cesca survive and hopefully recover from their illness. However, they rely on donations to fund many of their activities and for this reason, I urge you to please dig deep and help me raise my total! If you would like further information, please click on the below link to see exactly where the money goes:http://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/about-us/why-support-us/where-the-money-goes/
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
