My beautiful son Emrys was born 10 weeks premature on 7th November 2008. It was a very hard and emotional time with the underlying worry he wouldnt suvive. However, thanks to the staff at NICU ward at Southmead hospital, it allowed myself and his father to start our journey as new parents with reassurance our baby was in the best hands.
Unfortunately, after a few days of Emrys coming home he stopped breathing on me and I had to carry out CPR. I was very lucky that my cousin Kieran Byrne was visiting from New York as Kieran was able to call 999 whilst I tried to resusitate Emrys. I am so thankful to Kieran, as he acted so promptly and calmly under a very stressful situation. Emrys suffered two more episodes of cardiac arrest whereby Pete Sadler and the crew saved his life.
It was the most emotional time of my life and I can never thank Pete Sadler and the road ambulance crew enough. We have developed a great relationship with Pete who now works as a Paramedic for Great Western Air Ambulance.
As a huge thank you to Pete Sadler for saving our sons life, I would like to raise a hugh amount of money by jumping out a aeroplane at 10,000 feet.
For all the people who know me, you will be very aware I am terrified of heights and flying. This is a massive challenge for me and I would appretiate all your support.
