22/2/09: Many thanks to Hillary Bryant for her donation direct to H4H
Hello and many thanks for visiting this site. Special thanks to all our sponsors.
Nigel and I arrived at Mt Edgcumbe at lunchtime on Saturday 14th June, having taken just over a week to negotiate the Cornish Coast. Our version of this epic involved a total of 265 miles, 22 of which we did by canoe.
We were blessed with fantastic conditions, tropical sun, and modest north winds. Without doubt however we only suceeded because of the magnificent support provided by John, Sam and Harry. All we had to do was keep going and put up with each other!
Day 1: Marsland Mouth to Port Gaverne, 37 miles
Day 2: Port Gaverne Holywell Bay, 40 miles running, +1 by canoe
Day 3: Holywell to Zennor, 33 miles,+ 4 miles by canoe
Day 4: Zennor to Mousehole, 29 miles, begining to feel it!
Day 5: Mousehole to Kennack Sands 28 miles,+ 4 miles by canoe
Day 6: Kennack Sands to Portloe, 30 miles + 6 by canoe, tough
Day 7: Portloe to Looe 25 miles + 7 by canoe
Day 8: Looe to Plymouth 21 miles hobble!
All in all a very rewarding adventure. It has been a pleasure to be involved in some small way with Help for Heroes. Special thanks to Bryn and Emma Parry for galvinisng us into action.
Thanks again
Adam, Nigel, John, Sam and Harry
