 I am raising money for The Smiles Foundation as it is a charity very close to my heart. I spent a year volunteering with them after graduating and have visited on a number of other occasions. The charity are currently looking to raise funds in order to extend their outreach ministry, especially to children and families in impoverished communities. This is an area I am especially passionate about and so I thought I would make the most of these lockdown days by organising a fundraiser to support their work.

How will this work? Well, hopefully you will be familiar with the game Countdown from the TV. Contestants are given a set of letters to form the longest word they can or a set of numbers to reach a certain target. We will do exactly the same with each round consisting of two letters rounds, two numbers rounds and a conundrum round. All matches will be played over Zoom and details will be sent out for this on Thu 18th Feb. Contestants must attend their own matches (obviously!) but are also welcome to spectate as many other matches as they like. Those who have opted to spectate rather than play will also be able to spectate as many games as they choose but should remain on mute whilst the game is taking place. Suggested donations are as follows: £10 to play, £5 to spectate. The winner of the competition will receive the prize of afternoon tea for two delivered to their home on a date of their choosing!
