Story

Hi all, Craig South here.

Well, it’s that time of the year again when I look for your support as I run my annual fundraiser– the Edinburgh Marathon on 27th May.

As 2012 is the 30th anniversary of my dear Mum’s sad (and far too premature) death from cancer, I’m running for her and others like her who have passed away or suffered from this dreadful disease.

My chosen charity this year is MacMillan Cancer Support.

Unfortunately, my Mum didn’t benefit from the kindly, professional help that MacMillan Cancer Support provides, but there are countless thousands of sufferers and their families who have - and will continue to do so with the aid of people like you.

We all know about cancer and its destructive nature; I doubt if there is anyone reading this whose family or friends have not been affected by it.

And so this year I’m asking you to be especially generous.

To everyone whose life has been affected by cancer, not only those who have lost a family member, a loved one or a friend, but those who have suffered, recovered and benefited from the kindness and care of healthcare professionals I say this:

Please support me in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support - I’m running it for all of you!

Once again, I'm employing the Justgiving website as a means of maximising my fundraising efforts.

It's easy to sponsor me online by credit or debit card - just go to

http://www.justgiving.com/craig-south2

I don't have a strict target (although your generous support for Marathons 2009,2010 & 2011 has helped raise over £10,000.00 for MS Society Scotland, The National Autistic Society & Alzheimers Scotland) but donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure.

It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: MacMillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid is added to your donation.

I'm sure that with your fantastic efforts - once again! - we can raise a significant amount for MacMillan Cancer Support

And I know I say it every year, but I won’t get round those 26 miles of Auld Reekie without you!

Thank you in anticipation.
