Story

Hey dudes and dudettes thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
For those of you that don't know; Robert Walker (AKA my future brother in law, AKA Shay) and I have decided to embark on a new challenge....to climb Mont Blanc in the Alps!

How we came to decide on such a challenge is a bit hazy to be honest (but involved a pint or two of guiness as most of the best ideas do) but we have just a few weeks left before we don the crampons, get the wool hats and sleeping bags out and climb nearly 5000 metres up!

Some of you may already be a bit bored of us mentioning this mountain and for that i apologise but its nearly over dear friends and trust i will be glad to put this down to experience but here are a few more facts about the expedition:

Mont Blanc is 4810metres high

The climb will take 6 days and much of it will be over snow and ice

We will eat, sleep and camp on the mountain for almost a week.

Nearly 300 people die each year climbing it eek-(

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor Rob and I. The Charity we are raising money for is Lakelands Hospice and Cancer Care. They are a very worthwhile trust that is personal to both Rob and I. They helped my mother (and Robs future mother-in-law) recover and fight cancer successfully and they help hundreds of other people every single day get over cancer and also people spend their last days living in a dignified and comfortable manner with limited funds so any thing you can spare (and we completely appreciate things are tough for everyone at the moment)  will go a long way. Also if you’re a UK taxpayer, justgiving.com makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thanks in advance and we will send you the photos soon.
