Thank you for visiting my fundraising page - photo of me to follow! On May 25th 2008, I'll be dragging my vast bulk around a 20km (half-marathon) course in Brussels in aid of RETRAK, a charity that does a huge amount of work with street children in Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya. Many of these children find themselves in desperate circumstances on the streets of those countries having run away from home (to escape abuse or neglect). On the streets they invariably find themselves even more vulnerable. RETRAK's aim is to get these kids back on track, to give them a fresh start and help them rebuild their lives. RETRAK does this through sport, feeding programmes and medical outreach. Once contact is established each child is helped back into a society that they have been excluded from. Some are reunited with their families, others placed with foster families. Many are supported as they return to school or vocational training. Some RETRAK children have succeeded in setting up their own businesses or attending college or university. I have seen the results of RETRAK's work myself after one of it's volunteers visited St Paul's church in Brussels (which I attend). It is impressive. It's a worthwhile cause so please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RETRAK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support and in return I'll get back to training Craig Egner
