Lapka's Mount Kilimanjaro Trek (Air Ambulance)

Mount Kilimanjaro Trek · 20 January 2014
Take an unquenchable thirst to try something new, sprinkle a bit of passion to take on wee challenges and combine this with the privilege of being able to thank and help raise funds for two personally significant charities.........and you've pretty much got "Lapka's Mount Kilimanjaro Trek" in a nutshell.
In Jan 2014 I'll be tackling the highest free standing mountain in the world in order to raise awareness and funds for the "East Anglian Air Ambulance" and "Friends Of The Beatson". (Links to each of the charities can be found on both pages).
Why the East Anglian Air Ambulance charity?....... In June of this year my nephew Stephen was a passenger in a serious road traffic accident near Cambridge. The extent of injuries endured were critical and had it not been for the local air ambulance support all of my families lives would have changed dramatically forever.
Like many of the air support ambulances funding is crucial for the service to continue and each mission taken costs £2270 with flights now ongoing night and day.
Stephen is thankfully continuing to make a great recovery and if it had been possible would have loved to have joined me on this adventure.
On behalf of Stephen and the rest of the my family thank you for any donations you can spare.
Why the Friends Of The Beatson?........(click on link to find out more) -
Thank you so much to those that have kindly contributed so far. I've set myself a big challenge and a big fund raising minimum so please spread the word.
