About my charity : Action for Blind People Action for Blind People
Action for Blind People is a national charity that provides practical support to blind and partially sighted people through work, housing, leisure and support. Our vision is quite simple. We believe in a world where people who are blind or partially sighted are enabled to actively participate in society and have equal access to the choices and opportunities that so many take for granted. Action for Blind People is more than just a name - it's what we do.

My personal message:

As you are all aware the thought of me running 26.2 miles (actually gives me a stitch thinking about it) will make most people fall over in fits of laughter and come out with the phrases "good luck" and "do you have BUPA?"

I am not renowned for my running abilities! Those who would of seen my run (apart from chasing a football) would either know me from school (where 100m was my max) or to the local takeaway to get some chicken after a night out!

I have always wanted to do a marathon and believe it to be the ultimate challenge of endurance and fitness! i also work closely with a couple of marathon runners and the abuse was getting too much!

I have decided to run for a charity called Action for Blind People, the reason i chose this charity is that they have helped my grandad out a lot over the years.  My Grandad has become partially sighted over the last few years and for an active very independant man this can be very frustrating.  Action for the blind have made his life a lot easier with multiple gadgets around his home, giving him updates with regular calls and meetings.  He does all the things he used to take for granted and without Action for Blind People help that would not of been possible!

Please donate as much as you can for this cause... i need to raise £1400 for me to be able to enter the race and i dont want all the hard training be for nothing!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Action for Blind People gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

I appreciate all the help and support and will update everyone how i am doing!
