My story

 

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

This year, 2008, I set up a new world record. Sadly due to military commitments, I could not attempt this record. However, Myles Morson did take part in the record attempt and in doing so set a new World Record for the fastest time running a Marathon in Body Armour, Helmet, Boots, and Uniform.

Of course those who know me will know that both Myles and I are very competitive! So not to be out done, I am attempting to break this record in the 2009 London Marathon.

The charity I am running for, as always, is the British Forces Foundation (BFF). They ship Entertainers and Singers to Afghanistan and Iraq (and other places), to help boost the morale of thousands of service men and women who are deployed away from home for periods of up to 6 months (sometimes more). The Celebs who perform do so on a voluntary basis but the cost involved in equipment and getting it to and from places is enormous.

Therefore I intend to raise £5000 to help support them. It's a small sum for the sacrifices that so many service men and women make in terms of their families and their own safety out on operations.

I encourage you to give whatever you want. Every donation, not matter what the amount, will be appreciated and will help me towards my goal.
