Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I've decided to run the London Marathon 2009 in aid of the Royal National Institute of Blind People. This is a great charity and is the UK's leading in the provision of help to people with sight problems. Their vision is of a world in which blind and partially sighted people enjoy the same rights, freedom, responsibilities and quality of life as people who are fully sighted. Their mission is to challenge blindness by empowering people who are blind or partially sighted, removing the barriers they face and helping to prevent blindness.

I'm running to raise awareness for this charity after my sister got diagnosed with a rare eye condition. I've always wanted to do the marathon and this has finally given me the motivation to get training, get healthier and eventually complete my goal next year. I need a massive kick up the ass to do this so please sponsor me as much as possible to push me in the right direction!

Every day another 100 people will start to lose their sight. There are 2 million people in the UK with slight problems. So please get behind me and sponsor as much as possible as I aim to smash my £2000 target and get in shape before the 26th April 2009.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RNIB gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now and I'll keep you up to date with my training progress right here.

Thanks in advance! Craig.
