<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 15.0pt; mso-pagination: none; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;"><span style="font-size: 15.0pt; font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-US">During my preparation for the Beijing 2008 Paralympics I suffered a series of injuries, which left me unable to run for a number of months, I was left doing all my training sessions on a bike. Which meant I was unable to train with my usual training group, I found a new training partner in the last place you would expect. My next-door neighbour</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 20px;">, Chris. We trained together for a number of months as I tried to regain fitness for the games. Unfortunately the injuries got the better of me and I was unable compete.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 15.0pt; mso-pagination: none; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;"><span style="font-size: 15.0pt; font-family: Arial; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-US">Well that was then, so what now. Well I have retired from Athletics and was left looking for the next big challenge. And there it was, the, Deloitte Ride Across Britain, 1000 miles in 9 days, John O’Groats- Lands End, 120 miles a day, and it is in aid of the very organization that supported me through 3 Paralympic games, Paralympics GB, and who else could I ride with other than my neighbor, Chris Spooner.</span></p>
