Our personal message:

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!

Crazy 4 Kili are a group of four lovely ladies, led by veteran adventurer Babs Powell, of Pan's People fame, who are determined to raise as much money and equipment as possible for our forthcoming charity Kilimanjaro trek. Babs' husband, the actor Robert Powell, is President of SPARKS, so we have chosen to donate all funds we raise to this fantastic cause. SPARKS (Sport Aiding Medical Research for Kids) funds pioneering research that has a practical, positive impact on the lives of babies and children.

In the UK, many important areas of paediatric research depend heavily on funding from charities like SPARKS rather than the public purse. It's this knowledge that motivates SPARKS to continue doing great work, and it's this knowledge that encouraged us to do whatever we can to help. Babs has previously trekked to the North and South Poles, run a London Marathon, trekked to Everest base camp and taken part in a round-the-world yacht race - all for charity and all post 50 years old! The rest of us haven't quite got that much experience behind us, but we thought that climbing Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa at 5895 metres, would be a good place to start.

As is the case for most charity events of this scale, we have pledged to raise a minimum amount for SPARKS. However, we're not aiming to achieve the bare minimum...we want to surpass all expectations and go back to SPARKS with a cheque that will really make a difference to the lives of millions of childern. Not only that, we're all putting ourselves through a rigorous training regime to make sure we're in the best possible shape by September. Be sure to check on our progress at www.crazy4kili.com, where we will be keeping a detailed account of our struggles and successes over the next 8 months.

Please dig deep and sponsor us. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: SPARKS will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support.
