St Leonard's Way Challenge Walk · 1 May 2010

St Leonard’s Hospice is an independent charity, providing care and support for local people with life limiting illnesses. We have an In-patient Unit, Sunflower Centre and Hospice@Home service. Our care is free of charge to patients and their families but not free to provide.

Story

On Sunday 20th October I will be running the first York marathon. Despite the weather and hurting my back i'm going to try and struggle round and as always would hugely appreciate any financial support for St Leonard's Hospice via this Just Giving page.

You will also be able to watch highlights of the marathon on Channel 4 on Sunday 3rd November at 7am, which will be just after you get homd from the gym i'm sure.
Paul

PLEASE HELP US REACH OUR TARGET!

All money raised is for St Leonards Hospice in York. We need to raise money to enable the Hospice to carry on it's invaluable work caring for terminally ill people and supporting their families. As many of you will know we have had personal experience of  this when Kirsten ( daughter, sister and friend) was lovingly cared for prior to her death. I know from conversations with friends that many local people have had this experience too. We would very much appreciate any donation through this site or in person.

The team has grown to Sarah, Jo, David B, Nigel, David C, Paul - and now some kids too!

Thank you all for being so fantastic before, and we really appreciate any help and support in these lean times. Please keep giving- it costs over £3 million pounds a year to run the hospice.

If you would like to know more about the incredible work of the Hospice please visit  http://www.stleonardshospice.org.uk

On Sunday 15th September 2013 Paul is running the Great North Run (half a marathon). Nigel has been put in the leaders pack and he is raising money for the British Heart Foundation - a worthy cause and you can donate for him at: http://www.justgiving.com/Nigel-Issatt/

2013: Another year, another raft of challenges:

On Saturday 4th May Sarah David and Nigel (reduced numbers this year) will be doing the 20 mile (plus up-and-down-a-bit) St Leonards Hospice Challenge Walk - any donations to this rolling donation site for anything that any of us does would be very greatfully received,

On Sunday 5th August 2012 Bailey is going to be running the junior (2.5k), and Gil and Scarlett the mini (1.5k) fun run at the Jane Tomlinson Race for All.

If you would like to donate anything at all it would be very much appreciated.

(Paul will be doing the 10k too)

5th May 2012 we will be walking the 22nd 20 mile challenge walk, in aid of St Leonards Hospice. Any donations, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. It seems these days that everyone is raising money for something, or asking for sponsorship for one good cause or another. This cause is a personal one, a local one, and a very worthy one.

22nd May 2011 - Paul is doing the Edinburgh Marathon (yes, the whole thing, no, i've never done one before...)

31st July 2011 - Paul is going the York Jane Tomlinson 10k

30th April 2011 - All six of us took part in the 21st St. Leonard's Way Challenge walk, 20 miles, and we did it in 7hours 45. 45 minutes quicker than last year.

2010 we did the walk in about 8 1/2 hours - and we were fantastically supported with over £1,000 of sponsorship, we have left the grand total running on this page to show just what a difference your donations can make.
