Story
In the week commencing 30 July 2012 we will be running, rowing and pedalling 428 miles, the equivalent of travelling from London to Paris and back. This is to raise much needed funds for our Charity of the Year Tunbridge Wells Crisis Recovery.
The event will commence with a 5k- 10k run on Monday evening around Tunbridge Wells. This is to give us a head start, but the real challenge starts from Wednesday 1 August when we will endeavour to complete the remainder of the miles on a rowing machine, exercise bike and treadmill over the course of three working days.
Although we have set a sponsorship target of £1,500, we would really like to exceed this. Tunbridge Wells Crisis Recovery is a Christian charity, staffed by volunteers, which provides essential support to those who are homeless and/or suffer from addiction issues in the local area. The charity operates a Day Centre providing showers, hot meals, clean clothes and support. They also offer a 10 Steps Recovery Course for those with addiction issues. They rely on donation income to be able to provide these services.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our supporters. This includes Risebridge Health and Sports Club who have allowed us to use their sports equipment free of charge and also Paul Crabtree from 'Waste Paper Solutions' who has assisted us with moving and transporting the sport equipment to our offices.
