Last year, Oxleys CC made history by becoming the first team from England to travel to Kenya and win the annual 'Cricket in the Wild' tournament hosted by Ol Pejeta wildlife reserve in aid of Tusk Trust. Amidst the splendid surroundings of Mt Kenya and the highlands & wildlife of Lakipia, the team triumphed with a thrilling last ball victory over the reigning champions Gilgil CC. We also won the prize for the highest fundaraising team, following amazing generosity from so many of our supporters.
This year we go back on 26 - 28 September as defending champions, eager to retain both crowns. Tusk is an amazing charity which looks after humans as well as endangered animals. They need our money to support its ongoing projects across the African continent, including the schools in Lakipia that we helped to set up last year. It goes without saying that the need in Kenya is particularly strong after one of the most traumatic years in the country's history, which has seen vital revenue from tourism all but dry up. As with last year, all the money we raise goes to Tusk - the trip is paid for separately by the players and their loyal and beautiful WAGs.
Please give what you can in support, and thank you in advance for your time and generosity.
Yours faithfully
The players & supporters of Oxleys CC
