BUPA Great North Run 2008 · 5 October 2008 ·

1 in 5 children and 1 in 10 adults in the UK have eczema - over 8 million people. For 50 years the Society has provided information and support and works to dispel myths so those who have eczema need not feel stigmatised, guilty or isolated. More recently we have funded essential eczema research.

Story

To friends, family, colleagues and any one else visiting this page,

I ran the Great North Run on 5th October 2008 in loving memory of my ‘fantabulatastic’ friend Sarah Bath (Sarah-ra-ra-ra!!!) supporting the National Eczema Society.

On August 5th 2008 Sarah passed away suddenly at 25, leaving behind a loving family, boyfriend and hundreds of friends.  Sarah was loved by those whom she met through her bubbly, fun, outgoing personality and fighting attitude to life. she was super intelligent, hilariously funny, and the life and soul of any girls night out.

Eczema is an irritating skin condition which is deeply frustrating, sometimes preventing you from sleeping and it's appearance can lower self-esteem.

Sarah, like me, suffered with Eczema from early childhood, although   more severely than most experience, it had a huge bearing on Sarah's life even more than her asthma which is why I have chosen to support the National Eczema Society.

She will be deeply missed and eternally remembered.

Thanks for all of your help in raising a massive £1145.00. Special thanks to Boots Pharmacy Blyth, The Royal Tavern and The Mason's Arms for allowing me to put collection boxes in thier premises in the weeks leading up to the big day.

Love Cristina x x x
