TackleAfrica uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people on football pitches across the continent

Story

On July 14th at Lancaster & Morecambe college, Cross Hill are undertaking a footballing challenge of BIBLICAL proportions.

All in aid of Tackle Africa, Ellis Nutt, Trev' Watson, Andrew Clifton, George Johnson, Daniel Nield ('Titch'), Andrew Frobisher ('Frobi'), Paul Cody, and Carl Southam, are attempting to take part in a football marathon. 12 hours of constant 6 v 6 football, and taking in around 25 games, each player is expected to run around 40k (based on the gps statistics from previous marathons) - To put this in perspective, it's the equivolent of running the London Marathon, on grass, while trying to play football. Every pass, tackle, shot, and change of direction, will be just another year off the careers for these players, as any last reminance of knee cartilage grinds away into a fine dust.

Please check out Tackle Africa's cause (see right), and support our team by way of donation. Every little helps, and hopefully come July 14th, we'll be ready for the challenge, safe in the knowledge we've raised a great deal, for a great cause.

Thanks for your support.
