I am one of the lucky 414,168 successful applicants That will be running the 2019 London Marathon - yes that's correct, you do not need to get your eyes tested.

So you may ask how did this happy - let me tell you. After watching last year’s marathon and a program about it I felt all inspired (and emotional). Darren pointed out that we were still in time to apply so we did.

I will NEVER forget the day we received post. Once packet was padded and the other wasn't. My Dad had also applied but wanted to be contacted via -mail so had to wait. My response upon opening the post was ""you have got to be joking. This is a set u, are you having a laugh, I don't want to die!"...... plus a few other expletives thrown in for good measure.

So with the evidence in black and white training begun. In the beginning I couldn't run a full 5k route around the block, I cried (and cursed!) Can I do this?

Training is hard and I always seem to find anything else that I would rather do (including putting the clean washing away) first but I am doing it. I know I still need to put in a LOT more effort but I am slow and steady apologies in advance to any one coming on to support me - I may be a while) but at lease you can enjoy your day!

I am doing this to raise money for Guys and St Thomas' hospital which means a lot to me personally. They always really looked after my mum and i want to thank them for all they did for her. - Talking of my mum everytime i've been out running i've seen white feathers along my running route- this encourages me to keep going.
