Kerala, one of southern states of India, also known as "God's own country", my hometown is facing an unprecedented flooding situation caused by torrential rains, worst in the last century.
The area has received record breaking rainfall and for the first time in history was forced to open up shutters to 33 dams causing flooding in downstream areas.
I'm visiting my hometown at the moment and have witnessed the situation firsthand. Roads and houses are flooded, people are living in relief camps, airport has been shutdown, shops are running out of supplies as the goods delivery is stalled There is no electricity and mobile network connectivity is patchy.
I would be grateful if you could donate a small amount to this fund which I will hand over to relief efforts in my area.
