Back in February 2017 Jade, a family member was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative cancer! After battling for a year having all the surgeries, chemo, radiotherapy required a year later she was given the all clear! Very aware that this aggresive form of cancer can reoccur within the first five years, none of us expected it to happen at all, let alone just 3 months later. Jade had horrendous headaches that she couldn’t shift so eventually took herself to A&E. After instisting on having a head scan, it showed that Jade had 7 tumours on her brain leaving her with the diagnosis of stage 4 brain mets and was given 12-24 months to live. She has had cyberknife radiation therapy to help shrink/stop the tumours progressing, but she has had everything available to her in the UK. We now meed to try other options. Jade has a 5 year old daughter Eva, an amazing little girl that needs her mummy to grow up wIth! There are clinica in the US that think they can help Jade, with people who have had similar diagnosis’ still here today 10 years later with their cancer sleeping/dormant! There are care plans being created especially for Jades case in a few places in the US as we speak. Of course this treatment comes at a cost. Everybody is doing their bit to get her there.

So, 2 of my work collegues withon the NHS are going to be doing 3 marathons in 3 days in Cornwall at the end of October. Thats a whopping 78 miles up and across cliffs, uneven terrain and being cornwall i’m sure it will also be awful weather! And to top it off, they’ll be camping inbetween marathons incase it wasnt tough enough already!

So lets see how much we can raise for this Cause and get Jade to the US for this potentially life saving treatment!
