We are 7 happy walkers looking for sponsorship with the aim to buy Weighted Blankets for a local Day Centre for adults with learning difficulties.

These blankets are a sensory item that promotes calmness and helps reduce anxiety. They help the user feel safe, calm and grounded, through deep touch pressure. They are however, very costly, which is why we would like your support to raise some money to buy some and donate to the Centre. There are individuals attending this Centre who would benefit greatly from using these blankets, which are proven to offer great comfort to adults with Autism and other sensory-related conditions.

These blankets are available to buy on www.sensorydirect.com and range in price from £130 to £180 (dependant on size). We aim to buy 3 large ones for the Light & Sound Room, with any surplus going on smaller sensory items.

In return we have pledged to complete the Wensleydale Wander, which is a 23 mile walk - come rain or shine - on Saturday 13th April 2019.
