Story
Isaac is 21 and 1 of twins, he has a wicked sense of humour and loves nothing more than a little sarcastic banter with his siblings. He is a massive wrestling fan and is passionate about cooking and eating. Isaac hopes to start a catering based skills for work course in September.
Isaac has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. He has no independent mobility or standing and relies solely on his power chair for mobility. He also has severe learning difficulties and falls on the autistic spectrum. This has been the case since birth, he and his twin Zoe were 10 weeks premature and it is believed this was the cause (Zoe also has cerebral palsy but a milder form).
The problem.....
Isaac lives between his Mum and Dad's houses due to their divorce, his 'official' home address is his Dad's house so there is no financial help available for adaptations to his Mum's house.
Isaac has been sleeping in the lounge at his Mum's and using a commode behind a curtain for 6 years!
It was with great excitement that the family were finally able to embark on an extension to provide Isaac with a private sleeping area and a fully accessible shower room.
Sadly the family were advised poorly and unforeseen complications with the building means that funds have been severely diminished, work has been considerably delayed and currently a rented scaffolding ramp the only access to the house for Isaac. Using the scaffolding ramp is difficult and stressful and it can be very dangerous in frosty weather.
The family have been quoted £3590 for a desperately needed safe, permanent ramp, at the moment the family are sometimes house bound as it is so difficult to get in and out.
Mum Ruth says, 'if we can buy a ramp life will be so much easier. We hate to ask for financial help but we don't have the funds left for the ramp and the extension. If anyone is in a position to help we would be very very grateful. It has been an awful time but we have been so touched by the kindness of people."

7 years agoSo, after the good news about the cheaper quote it seems we may be back to square one regarding the ramp price. The cheaper quote depends on using 2nd hand parts which currently belong to South Glos concil and not to the company who provided the quote. It seems the company may not be able to precure the parts as they had hoped and is looking likely that we still need to raise the full amount of £3590 to pay for the ramp. So please continue to donate and share! will still have £1000 to raise!

7 years agoUpdate from Isaac's Mum: Amazing news! We have received a new quote from the suppliers using some second hand sections, this has dramatically reduced the price and the amount raised already covers it!!! The Just Giving page will remain live and any excess will be used towards Isaac's shower room that we are still short of funds for. We are incredibly grateful to all for your generosity and kindness, we are completely over whelmed and blessed. Not to dread getting in and out the house is going to be wonderful! Many many thanks xx
